Sunrise Elopement in Georgetown Colorado | Gloria and Becca

Gloria and Becca’s Colorado sunrise adventure session was everything they hoped for.  These two had dreams to elope in Colorado. Unfortunately though because of the state of our country had to elope in NYC soon after the most recent election.  Though these circumstances did derail their dream of actually getting married in Colorado, they were still able to have a Colorado adventure session with me and it was SO special.

Planning an Elopement in Georgetown Colorado

When planning an elopement in Colorado, it’s important to take the time to do some research on the area.  Colorado weather can have a lot of extremes. These extremes depend on a few factors: what time of year you elope, where you elope and how you plan to elope. Which is why it’s important to keep these extremes in mind and be ready to pivot if conditions are not safe at your elopement location.  If the weather is safe but not what you expected, it’s also important to be prepared. Have umbrellas, proper shoes and any other weather gear that will keep you comfortable ready to go!

For example, Gloria and Becca’s sunrise elopement session was supposed to happen at sunset the night before.  Their intention was to take photos with the sun setting and end their session with blue/stars. Unfortunately, we had a threat of severe storms that evening.  Because the storms were severe enough that it would be dangerous to have their session we decided to change our plans.  We pivoted their session to the following morning to take photos from blue hour into sunrise.  The pivot worked out perfectly. Giving them a magical morning together with starry vibes and ending with sunflowers and mountain views.

Gloria and Becca’s Elopement

We started off Gloria and Becca’s elopement by hiking out to their location before the sunrise.  Surrounded by stars we walked out to their location in Georgetown Colorado. Here, they spent some time celebrating their marriage by taking portraits in their wedding dresses.  After sunrise we continued our hike to a nearby lake to get a change of scenery. One of my favorite parts of CO is the diversity in landscape throughout the state or even within a park. There is SO much diversity you can out in a field surrounded by mountains, continuing to a field of wildflowers and end by a lake all in one session.  I LOVE Colorado and having a job that allows me to share my passion for the nature that makes Colorado such an amazing state.
