Colorado is the most BEAUTIFUL place for a proposal, especially for couples coming from out of state. Helping Arpit plan his surprise proposal to Anjali was so special since they traveled all the way from Chicago, Illinois to have me document this moment for them. We ventured out to Mount Falcon Park West Loop Trail for some snowy spring vibes, and it could not have been more perfect!!

A Snowy Surprise Proposal in Mount Falcon Park

Arpit had planned this whole surprise weekend for Anjali. Her sister brought her to the airport and they flew to Denver for a night. Anjali was then dropped off at Mount Falcon and walked up to Arpit waiting for her in a magical snow covered overlook surrounded by evergreens. Arpit then got down on one knee and proposed! A thoroughly surprised Anjali OBVIOUSLY said yes, and they shared a few moments alone before we dove into some dreamy portraits!

The soft creams and neutrals from their outfits worked BEAUTIFULLY with the snow falling and speckling their hair. And I definitely had Anjali show off her new bling - the oval diamond and timeless twisted band fit right in with this romantic moment that I’m sure neither of them will ever forget!

Adjusting Our Proposal Plans for the Colorado Weather

Believe it or not, this stunning proposal did not take place in the dead of winter - it happened in April! Thanks to the crazy Colorado weather, we had to change our plans from our original location to Mount Falcon.

The trail I set Arpit up on for the surprise is actually a pretty easy trail when you compare it to many others here in Colorado. With the heavy snow, a more difficult trail would have been unsafe and wouldn’t have allowed us to easily document this precious moment for them!! So it’s important when planning a proposal in Colorado that you’re flexible on location changes even at the last minute!!

As a photographer here in Colorado, sudden weather changes and thinking on my feet for those last minute location changes are nothing new to me, which was crucial to making Arpit and Anjali’s day a safe and memorable one! I’m so glad they trusted me with helping them plan such a perfect snowy surprise in the middle of spring and traveled all this way to have me photograph this for them. It was absolutely perfect and so so beautiful to witness!!
