Colorado Wedding Venue Feature: Highlands Ranch Mansion
I absolutely love shouting out some of my favorite wedding venues in Colorado, so this blog is doing just that!! We’re talking about Highlands Ranch Mansion today - a wedding venue just outside of Denver that is the closest thing you’ll get to having your wedding in a castle this close to the city. Truly a remarkable place to get married with the most classic and elegant vibes that showcases beautifully in any season. This is such a fantastic spot for easy access to Denver, so it’s perfect for anyone doing some travelling!! It’s also got ALL the different spaces you’ll need for a full wedding day, and that’s always a win in my book!
The Variety of Spaces Available at the Highlands Ranch Mansion
What makes this venue SUCH an appealing find are the various different spaces available for your wedding day. From getting ready through reception, Highlands Ranch Mansion has you covered so there’s no need to go offsite throughout the day!! There are also plenty of options for both indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate the ever changing Colorado weather.
Getting Ready Spaces of the Highlands Ranch Mansion
There are two available getting ready spaces furnished and ready for you and your partner to get flawless for your day!
Indoor Wedding Spaces of the Highlands Ranch Mansion
Great Hall: up to 250 guests - The largest and most versatile room featuring high ceilings, exposed wood beams, and stone and brick walls. Used for ceremonies and receptions.
Solarium: 80-150 guests - Donning a 1920s style with terrazzo floors and bright windows. This space is used for smaller ceremonies and receptions.
Dining Room: Walnut herringbone floors and a large dining table make this a versatile space, most commonly used for cocktail hour and buffet service.
Library: Classic wood paneling lines the walls and makes this space great for bar service or cocktail hour.
Living Room: Period style furniture, exposed wood beams, and a travertine fireplace, this is the perfect location for greeting and gathering your guests.
Outdoor Wedding Spaces of the Highlands Ranch Mansion
Garden + Gazebo: up to 250 guests - While the Gazebo overlooks the pasture and mountains, the Back Garden shows off the Tudor style of the Mansion. Both are wonderful for ceremonies.
Back Patio: up to 200 guests - Access from the Solarium, Dining Room, and Great Hall makes it ideal for a ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception.
Front Veranda: up to 225 guests - A shady, north facing location used for ceremony or cocktail hour that is only available June-September.
West and East Lawn: up to 250 guests - The West Lawn is grand and sits in front of the Mansion itself, perfect for larger ceremonies. While the East Lawn is more suitable for intimate ceremonies.
Front Circle Drive: up to 250 guests - The jaw dropping front of the Mansion is your backdrop and can be used for larger ceremonies!
Marian’s Garden: This space is wonderful for portraits! However, it is unavailable for a ceremony or reception setup.
Amenities Offered by the Highlands Ranch Mansion
Highlands Ranch Mansion has already checked off so much for your wedding day, but with your reservation they also include:
Exclusive use of the entire Mansion and grounds.
Two private dressing suites.
One hour rehearsal.
Free, on-site parking for up to 225 guests.
A variety of tables and chairs with placement for ceremonies and receptions.
Highlands Ranch also requires a minimum 5 hour event with 3 hours prior for client and vendor setup and 2 hours after for cleanup. Additional hours are available at an additional cost. Service and Vendor Requirements
There are just a few requirements when it comes to the vendors you'll use at Highlands Ranch Mansion. The venue likes to ensure that their couples use certain vendors that have proven track records of following guidelines and operate well at their venue:
Catering: Must be with one of their approved caterers.
Food: All food and beverages need to be supplied from a licensed and insured food vendor.
Alcohol: The mansion handles all sales and service of alcoholic beverages. No outside alcohol may be brought onto the property.
Day-of-coordinator: Couples must hire an insured day-of-coordinator, and have them be present for the final walk-through one month prior.
Mansion Staff: Staff will properly place chairs and tables by your arrival time so everything is 100% ready for you, your vendors, and guests. You will also have a Mansion Event Associate available for all facility-related needs throughout your whole day!
Accessibility and Ease of Access
It’s no surprise that I love Highlands Ranch Mansion, I even listed it as one of my top 10 wedding venues close to Denver!! It’s such a great location that lets you get a little ways out of the city while also being so close and easy to travel to.
The venue is also extremely accommodating and accessible. Most areas throughout the mansion are readily accessible. And for any area that isn’t, accommodations can be made by contacting staff prior to your wedding day.
You’ll be able to take note of any areas of concern during your one-month walk-through, which will be scheduled during Highlands office hours. It’s also required that your caterer and coordinator/planner are present during this time!
