Today's blog is a special one as we’re taking an in depth look at one of my FAVORITE wedding venues of Denver, Colorado, The Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens!! Those that have been following me and my blog for a bit now may recognize this venue from my list of 10 favorite wedding venues in Denver. Featuring the Lumber Baron Inn on that blog doesn’t quite do this venue justice though as there is SO much that makes it the one of a kind venue experience it is! Plus, having grown up just down the street from here it holds a special place in my heart!! So without further ado, let’s dive into the details of this incredible space and see why you should consider it when looking for your wedding venue!

Amenities and Services

First let’s take a look at the amenities and services The Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens provide their couples as a wedding venue. For starters, the Lumber Baron Inn is chef owned and operated, which means while there isn’t outside catering allowed you can rest assured that Chef Joel will provide you with a TOP NOTCH menu and dining experience for your wedding day! In addition to Chef Joel, the Lumber Baron Inn staff are some of the friendliest and most professional I’ve worked with in the industry. They’re here to ensure you’re able to enjoy your day to the fullest, and the venue even includes a day-of-coordinator when you book your wedding.

In addition to the incredible service and staff of The Lumber Baron Inn, they also offer a ton in terms of amenities for their couples!! The venue has multiple spaces to use on your wedding day, something we’ll cover more in depth later in this blog, and has 3 on site bars to enjoy as well. The venue also provides tables, chairs, chair covers, and tableware for your wedding day keeping things simple and stress free for you! Outside of alcohol and catering, the venue gives you complete control over your vendor choice, but they do have recommendations should you need them!

Wedding Size

The Lumber Baron Inn prides itself as a wedding venue suitable for ALL wedding sizes. Whether you want an intimate wedding, or you’re looking to have a large celebration, the Lumber Baron Inn has you covered as it can host up to 150 guests!! This is in thanks due to the venue’s clever use of their space. Starting off is their outdoor courtyard which is gorgeous and acts as a perfect ceremony space, but is also perfect for cocktail hour and even for an outdoor reception! One of the three bars is located outdoors and 150 guests can easily fit in the space.

Indoors is the large and STUNNING ballroom on the third floor, and multiple elegant parlors for guests to mingle and dine together. These spaces can each hold 75 guests respectively, so even in the case of inclement weather you and your guests will be able to enjoy all the festivities of your wedding day!

Travel and Stay

When you book your wedding at The Lumber Baron Inn you get the entire Inn for the day of your wedding which really brings the experience to the next level! The inn itself has a honeymoon suite that is included when you book and you even get breakfast in bed the morning after your wedding day! The inn also offers 4 additional guest suites that are available exclusively for your guests to book if they’d like. Being in the north side of Denver also means there are plenty of locations for your other guests to stay at, and makes travel about as simple as possible as it’s just a 30 minute drive from the Denver International Airport!

What Sets The Lumber Baron Inn Apart as a Wedding Venue

A wedding day at the Lumber Baron Inn is above all else an experience! The venue has a long and rich history, one that it is still deeply attached to and that is kept intact thanks to the most recent restoration efforts. I absolutely adore the unique Victorian charm of the building and how it really feels like you’re stepping back into the late 1800’s, aside from the modern amenities!! The outdoor garden makes you forget that you’re even in downtown Denver and instead in some secluded mansion in the woods.

Lastly, and this might be a turn off for some, but the mansion is haunted, and I love a good ghost story! You can read more about the spooky happenings of the mansion here, but for me I think this really adds to the quirky charm that makes the Lumber Baron Inn the one of a kind wedding venue that it is!!
