Intimate Elopement in Twin Lakes Colorado | Brandon and Xena
Brandon and Xena had my all time favorite conditions for their Intimate elopement in Twin Lakes Colorado: moody skies and fall colors! Between the overcast conditions casting the most beautiful light on the two of them and the golden aspens covering the mountains their elopement could not have been more perfect!
Planning their Elopement in Twin Lakes Colorado
Xena and Brandon had very few requests when it came to planning their wedding. They wanted a location with aspens, mountains and a lake, and I think we nailed it!
One of my favorite parts of the elopement process is talking through the vision my couples have for their wedding day. Because I've worked as a wedding photographer in Colorado for so long, I have a LOT of beautiful locations I love to recommend, along with plenty of experience planning elopements.
Sometimes couples come to me with an exact location and plan already mapped out. Other times, couples come to me with a general vision, and I get to help them choose the perfect location and create their ideal timeline that brings their vision to life.
Why I Love Elopements with Guests
For Brandon and Xena's wedding day, they chose to include a close circle of their chosen family to celebrate alongside them. One of their friends officiated the ceremony, and afterward, each of their loved ones gave a heartfelt toast wishing them well as they started this next phase of their life together. Their elopement experience was so meaningful and intentional, and I'm so grateful that they trusted me to document this special moment.
Things to with Your Guests During Your Elopement
There are so many ways to get married, and eloping with a few guests can make the experiences even more special. Here are a few ways to include your loved ones in your day:
Ask your guests to prepare short toasts for after the ceremony or letters for you to read on your wedding day
Go out for a nice dinner with your loved ones following your elopement ceremony and portraits
Turn it into a full experience! Rent a cabin and ask your guests to stay with you for the weekend, finish your elopement day with a little house party to celebrate your marriage.
Gone are the days where elopements were thought of as simply running off to the courthouse and getting married with a judge. There are SO many beautiful and intentional ways to elope and Brandon and Xena are a perfect example of that.
Their elopement in Twin Lakes Colorado, was everything they dreamed of for their day, and I am so happy they chose to create a day that truly reflected them.
