Monique and Alex’s sustainable wedding at Mountain Wedding Garden was one of my favorite wedding days of the summer! Monique and Alex were so thoughtful and creative when putting together their sustainable wedding day and the weather for their wedding day was PERFECT. Between the beautiful sustainable details, the beautiful backdrop and all of the love and support from their families, it’s easy to see why this wedding day was a hit!

Getting Ready for their Day at Mountain Wedding Garden

Their wedding day started at a local cabin in Crested Butte where Monique and Alex got ready with their loved ones. Monique and Alex put a LOT of thought into the details that went into their wedding day experience as well as the experiences of their guests, so it was a lot of fun seeing it all come together. Playing into the beauty of their garden wedding venue they made sure their wedding felt open and calm and whimsical. They took their time getting ready in the morning and then had a first touch before heading out to their Colorado wedding venue.

The Details from Their Summer Wedding in Colorado

Monique and Alex wanted their wedding to feel open and relaxed with a touch of whimsy, so they really leaned into the theme of wildflowers. The Mountain Wedding Garden in Crested Butte was thoughtfully chosen because they were surrounded with nature. Monique and Alex feel their most authentic when they’re outside, so they wanted to ensure that their wedding day held that same authenticity.

Monique spent time thrifting all of the glassware for the wedding so that guests could pick their favorite and take it home as a favor. They also spent a lot of time creating their own wedding decor and playing into the theme of wild flowers, whether it was the colorful glassware, the wildflowers on the guests tables, or their seating chart that included packets of wildflower seeds! On top of that, they also got married in July specifically for the wildflowers that Crested Butte is known for.

What an incredible and whimsical wedding day for these two outdoorsy people. This day was one of my favorites of the summer. Crested Butte in July is just breathtaking and the way Monique used her thrifted and DIY decor to play into the nature surrounding her venue was so beautiful.
