One of the most popular locations to elope in Colorado just keeps growing in popularity. With its beautiful mountain views, easy hikes, wildflowers and so much more, Loveland Pass has become a go to spot for eloping in Colorado. What to Know About Loveland Pass

Loveland Pass is a great spot to elope if you value impressive mountain views that require little work to get there. Though this accessibility makes it a beautiful and great spot for couples to elope, it also has been a part of the big increase in traffic here over the last couple of years. Loveland Pass is no longer the hidden gem that it once was and has become a very popular destination for couples eloping in Colorado.

You can have guests at this spot, and per the ranger station, there is a limit of 75 people, but always make sure to call to confirm current conditions. To have any sort of set up for a larger ceremony you will also need to apply for some sort of permit for your elopement. There has been a rumor that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has considered starting to require a permit for eloping at Loveland Pass due to its rise in popularity, but as of yet (early 2026), it has not happened. Be sure to check online as your elopement approaches to stay up to date with permit requirements.

The Best Season to Elope at Loveland Pass

Though this location is beautiful year round, there are still things to consider when choosing what time of year to elope at Loveland Pass. There are some spots that are only accessible in the summer and early fall. Then, in the winter, things can be a little dicey in some areas due to avalanche danger with big storms. It’s important that regardless of what time of year you decide to elope at Loveland Pass, that you regularly check updates on the park website to ensure you have a safe elopement! This is also a great spot for sunset alpenglow if the conditions are right, and for stargazing for late night elopement vibes.

When to Elope at Loveland Pass

Because of the popularity of this location for elopements in Colorado, know that you will more than likely run into both hikers and other couples eloping or hosting intimate ceremonies on your wedding day if you choose to elope here. I have been up to Loveland Pass with couples even on weekdays in the summer where we ran into other couples eloping. Though it can be busy, there is still plenty of space to spread out for your elopement.

If you are looking to have a more intimate experience when eloping at Loveland Pass, I would recommend eloping during sunrise, and eloping on a weekday. I do NOT recommend eloping here on the weekends due to the limited parking. Along with being a popular spot for eloping in Colorado, it is also a VERY popular trailhead and being on i70 and has very limited parking and traffic leading up to the park.
