Summer Wedding at North Star Gatherings | Iva and Adam — Colorado Wedding and Elopement Photographer

Today’s blog is one I’ve been looking forward to writing about for a WHILE now! Not only because I wrote about Iva and Adam’s engagement session previously, but also because the photos from their epic wedding at North Star Gatherings have been featured in quite a few of my previous articles!! If you’ve checked out some of my earlier posts you’ve likely seen a moment or two from their wedding day. Now it’s finally time to give their day the full attention it deserves!!

Getting Ready for Their Day

Iva and Adam started their day in the best possible way, getting ready and having a blast with their closest friends! Adam and his guys spent the morning tossing a football around while Iva and her gals had a full blown Cheetah Girl inspired photo sesh!! Something I adore about their wedding venue, North Star Gatherings in Idaho Springs, Colorado, is that they have getting ready spaces on site for both the bride and groom to use. This let Iva and Adam really enjoy the morning of their wedding day without feeling stressed out and pressed for time! It’s one of the MANY reasons why I love this venue, and why it made my list of 10 favorite venues in the mountains of Colorado!

Another reason why I love North Star Gatherings is the simply jaw dropping views of the mountains the venue has to work with! Iva and Adam had their first look with this view as their backdrop, and the results really speak for themselves. This was easily one of my favorite moments to document from the day, as both Iva and Adam were practically radiating joy when they saw each other for the first time! Having their first look meant that we also could knock out their wedding party photos then, leaving more time and flexibility for the rest of their day. While the weather did keep us on our toes throughout the day, we thankfully lucked out with the worst of it being some strong gusts of wind!

An Emotional Ceremony in the Mountains

Up next for Iva and Adam’s wedding day was of course their ceremony on the back deck of North Star Gatherings! The space is perfect for a wedding ceremony, as it takes advantage of the same views I mentioned earlier, but has plenty of room for all of Iva and Adam’s guests to sit comfortably. The ceremony itself was just as beautiful as the view surrounding it, and incredibly emotional thanks to some moving speeches from Iva and Adam’s loved ones! They made it a priority as well to include a blend of Serbian and Jewish traditions into their wedding to honor their heritage which was SO beautiful to witness! After the final happy tears had been shed, and the glass had been stomped, it was time to get the party started!!

Epic Wedding Reception at North Star Gatherings

The indoor space of North Star Gatherings opens up directly to the deck where Iva and Adam’s ceremony took place, and on a beautiful day such as theirs we were able to keep the doors open for their entire wedding reception. This meant that Iva, Adam, and their guests could dance inside and out seamlessly, all with music provided by the Diamond Empire Band who kept the energy high all night long!!

There were some quieter moments of course, including some more beautiful speeches to bring the happy tears back, and some epic sunset portraits for Iva and Adam. As night fell though the party went into overdrive! Iva’s outfit change into her sparkly reception dress was one of many standout moments from the night. A special shoutout to Little Man Ice Cream for keeping everyone fueled throughout the night thanks to their ice cream cart! Finally to cap the night off Iva and Adam shared a final dance under the string lights of the back deck, the perfect end to what can only be described as a perfect wedding day!!

I’m so glad to finally have been able to share Iva and Adam’s wedding at North Star Gatherings! I’ve been obsessing over their day since I documented it, and I don’t think that’s ever going to change!!
