Colorado Adventure Elopement at Alpenglow Cabin | Micaiah & Patrick

One of the best parts of being a Colorado wedding and elopement photographer, is that there truly is no off season for us. Colorado is beautiful all year long, so when I get an inquiry from Micaiah and Patrick for their winter elopement in Alpenglow Cabin I was SO excited. Micaiah and Patrick wanted their full elopement day documented so I was able to be with them from the start of their day getting ready, all the way through sunset and let me tell you, it was one of my favorite Colorado elopements!

‍ ‍

How Much Photography Coverage Do You Need for Your Colorado Elopement?

‍ When planning an elopement in Colorado, the sky is truly the limit. Having a photographer there to guide you through the planning and your elopement day can completely transform your experience. Micaiah and Patrick opted for a longer elopement package. Because of this we were able to take our time before heading out to Twin Lakes. Throughout their day we were able to photograph them in multiple locations, and end the night at Surf Hotel for dinner and drinks.

‍ ‍Things to Think About When Choosing Your Elopement Package

‍ ‍Here are some things to think about when deciding how much photography coverage you want for your Colorado Elopement:

  1. How many adventures are you planning throughout the day? If you want to explore multiple trails, go on an epic long hike to a beautiful location or a couple of small hikes, you'll want more coverage to document all of those beautiful moments.

  2. How many locations are you planning to travel to? Be sure to plan in additional time for travel. Driving and hiking from location to location will take time! If you are planning on exploring more than one location, you'll want more coverage

  3. Do you have a couple of fun moments planned throughout the day that you want documented? Activities like cake cutting and family portraits are moments you will not want to rush. Having longer coverage will ensure you have plenty of time to be present in those moments.

When deciding how much coverage you want for your Colorado elopement, be sure to consult with your elopement photographer. Colorado elopement photographers have so much experience at all different types of elopements. They will be able to help you make sure you choose the perfect package for your elopement day.

Twin Lakes Colorado Elopement

One of the best parts about choosing to elope is the freedom that comes with it. Micaiah and Patrick wanted a winter elopement because they LOVE snowboarding. Twin Lakes was the perfect combination of accessible and beautiful. Knowing they wanted their dogs with them for the ceremony, we felt this area of Colorado was perfect for everyone.

Alpenglow doesn't allow dogs, so after taking our time getting ready, we met their dogs and sitters at the lake for Micaiah and Patrick's ceremony. Because they booked coverage for their full elopement day we were able to take our time and really enjoy exploring each location. We travelled to a handful of different locations throughout their day. Then, we closed out their perfect elopement with dinner and drinks. For dinner and drinks we stopped at Surf Hotel which was the perfect venue for the three of us.

These two left me the SWEETEST review. I love being a part of so many beautiful wedding and elopement days in Colorado, and theirs is no exception!

"If you’ve been looking for a sign for THE photographer for your day, this is it!!!

“Stop looking and book with Katie right now. We could not imagine our big day being captured by anyone else. When working with Katie you will notice the attention to detail in planning, strong and consistent communication, and the best hype gal all in one. The proof is in the pictures. Katie managed to capture the small intimate moments on our big day. I am so thankful our love for one another is timelessly captured to enjoy for the rest of our lives🤍"
