Fall Elopement in Guanella Pass | Kristi and Bryan

Kristi and Bryan's beautiful Colorado elopement showcased one of my favorite parts about this beautiful state, the weather!  We were lucky to experience a little bit of three of the four seasons throughout their elopement.  The start of fall colors with warm colored grasses, faded late summer greens, and mountain snow all in one session!  Their September elopement in Colorado was everything they hoped for when celebrating their marriage, a laid back experience exploring the beautiful Guanella Pass.

Kristi and Bryan’s Fall Elopement at Guanella Pass

Kristi and Bryans Colorado elopement really took place within the changing of the seasons.  These two technically signed the paperwork by themselves but we still went out for some mountain vibes to celebrate their elopement.  Guanella Pass is known for its beautiful fall foliage, picturesque tree lines, TONS of trailheads and two of the states best preserved victorian towns, including Georgetown, which is where we spent our time! This is a perfect spot for any couple planning a destination elopement in Colorado who want to have a beautiful and scenic trip filled with hiking.

We ended their session on the mountains with moody snow making for some dramatic photos especially when the sun popped out just a little bit for sunset! The pink clouds, paired with the snow on the mountains and the pink in Bryans tie made for such a beautiful color palette in their wedding photos.

What is an Adventure Session and Why Should You Plan One?

Because Bryan and Kristi eloped on a separate day, one might consider this session to be an adventure session. An adventure session is a photo session on a separate day from when a couple actually gets married in which the couple dresses up in their wedding gear and takes portraits in often a very scenic location. If you're planning your your wedding in Colorado or planning to elope in Colorado, you might opt for an adventure session to have a more laid back and controlled environment when it comes to taking your wedding portraits. I LOVE adventure sessions for couples, here are a few more reasons why I love them.

What are the Benefits to Having an Adventure Sessions

More Flexibility on Your Wedding Day

With an adventure session planned into your celebrations, you're able to relax and focus on being around your guests if you're also planning a wedding or being with your partner if you're eloping! No need to rush around for wedding portraits as the majority of your portraits will be taken during your adventure session.

Multiple Locations for Wedding Portraits

Sometimes to include everyone you hope to have with you on your wedding day or for your own time constraints and logistics, you have to bend a bit when choosing a location for your wedding day. Having an adventure session will give you the option to travel to your dream destination for your wedding portraits while still planning a wedding that feels easy. It also gives you the opportunity to have more than one location within your wedding album.

Quality Time

Your wedding day can be a WHIRLWIND, between a ceremony, paperwork, a reception, and spending time with loved ones, it can be hard to really spend time with your partner. Planning an adventure session blocks out some time for you and your partner to lean into one another and be present together while celebrating your wedding day.

An adventure session paired with their Colorado elopement was the perfect way to celebrate Kristi and Bryans beautiful marriage and I feel so lucky that they trusted me to be a part of their wedding experience!

To see a full album of a wedding day paired with an adventure session you'll want to check out Megan and Blakes' wedding day! Megan and Blake had a full wedding day including a full reception but wanted some portraits outside of their wedding venue, so we planned an adventure session following their wedding day to celebrate their marriage!
